雅思长难句如何切割？

英语基本句型大体上包括五种，比如主谓，主谓宾，主谓表，主谓双宾(间接宾语，直接宾语)，以及主谓宾+宾语补足语。雅思阅读中会出现一些长难句，给考生理解文章信息和解题带来很大的困难。雅思长难句如何切割?

举个例子：剑桥真题12 Test 5 P 1 中的第三段：

C Participants in the online debate argued that our biggest challenge is to address the underlying causes of the agricultural system’s inability to ensure sufficient food for all, and they identified as drivers of this problem our dependency on fossil fuels and unsupportive government policies.

一段话只由一句话组成，在雅思阅读中不算少见，但是对于大多数的同学来说，这就是一个非常难的长句。

长句，就像是水下游泳，一口气读完是不太可能的。所以需要切割成正常的短句子。

到底如何切割?

1 找主干

这个句子是由一个标准句型组成的：participants in the online debate argued that …andthey identified as …

这个主干定下来全句基调：网上的辩论中的参与者们认为…和他们…

they 这个人称代词指的是前一句的主语：participants

2 寻关系

这个长句子有两个句子，用and 连接。

第一个：Participants in the online debate argued that our biggest challenge is to address the underlying causes of the agricultural system’s inability to ensure sufficient food for all

第二句：they identified as drivers of this problem our dependency on fossil fuels and unsupportive government policies.

这两个句子之间是什么句子之间关系呢?

误区1: 并列关系

因为有and 连接词，很多人会误以为这是并列句

其实这是一个很大的坑

要注意到第2句有一个代词：this problem 代词都需要往前看一句

所以这里 this problem= 前一句中的问题= agricultural system’s inability toensure sufficient food for all 农业系统难以增加充足的食物

而第2句中：

they identified as drivers of this problem XX and YY= they identified XX and YY as drivers of this problem

他们认为这个问题的原因是XX 和YY

这里有一个倒装，你看出来了吗?

C Participants in the online debate argued thatour biggest challenge is to address the underlying causes of the agricultural system’s inability to ensure sufficient food for all, and they identified asdrivers of this problem our dependency on fossil fuels and unsupportive government policies.

所以前半句中：参与者们认为：我们较大的挑战就在于需要理清这个问题的潜在原因

后半句：他们认为这个问题的原因就是XX 和 YY

So它们之间其实是解释关系哦

1了解基本句型

主干指的是长难句的核心信息，也就是主、谓、宾三个成分。

在了解基本句型之后，想要突破长难句，考生要能够找到长难句中的主干，排除其他修饰部分的干扰。

3分析重点修饰成分

在长难句中，谓语动词除了时态之外不会有太多的变化，而主语和宾语则变化较多，比如在各种从句、介词短语、形容词等中存在，考生要做的就是找出哪部分是主语，哪部分是宾语。
